I've heard that the Mapletree Audio amps from Dr. P have fantastic synergy with Grados

Just got finished reading this entire thread! I'm waiting on a pair of new PS1Ki's, which should be here Wednesday (hopefully). As you may know I own the 80i/325is/RS1i's, and tried the GS1Ki's which just weren't for me compared to the RS's. So i decided to try the PS1Ki, and after reading this thread I'm hoping very much too really love these headphones. It is really the hardest thing to hear a headphone through posts/reviews, because everyone hears/likes different sound signatures, but I just wanted to read the posts on this thread for a little bit of insight on what I may be hearing, and gather other thoughts/opinions. After reading this thread I think I'm going to like them more than not…but I won't know until after being well burned-in (from what I've read), but I really have very high expectations for these headphones, and hope they don't discourage me. I love my RS1i's (best headphones I've ever heard), as I do all of my other Grados, so if these don't meet my expectations I will know the RS1i is the Grado for me.

Can't wait too hear!

Will be very interested to hear your feedback then...there are quite a few who seem to actually prefer the venerable RS-1s over even the beautiful PS1ks. I have't heard the chrome beauties yet, myself, but hope to one day.

Yes, I know there are quite a few who prefer the RS over both the GS/PS…but either way wether I appreciate the RS/PS for myself more, I'll have an awesome sounding headphone.

I'll definitely be reporting back.

I've searched this site/others before posting this and couldn't find an answer.

Has anyone removed the drivers from the cups on the PS 500/1000?

I'm sure it has been done,

You just have to find a way to remove the glue. You can try and pull it off.

Why would you do this, if you don't mind me asking?

Yes I'm sure it could be  done also, but I would nave liked to have heard from someone who has already done this due to the wood driver housings. I asked because I ordered the PS1000i's, and if I feel I they outperform the RS1i's in every way for me, I'm going to keep them, but I am definitely going to anodize them being I think the chrome finish is very cheap looking (don't mean to insult anyone) its just my opinion. So I was just curious for the most part right now, because I don't even know if I'm going to like them, but if I do I'm going to mod them a bit. Thanks.
