Can't wait to read your furthur comments.

In my system PS1000 has more microdetails than HE6 (ofcourse my el34 push pull amp can drive He6 properly.)  And the transparency is also better, I can hear the depth of soundstage clearer.

And for transient response, PS1000 is also better than He6.

PS. Now i use 8 wires norn cable connecting from speaker tab of my amp to drive He6.

 In terms of sound stage depth - they're world class, unless STAX shows me the light down the track then these

 sit at the top of the tree for me. Just listening to Jacques Brel, this broken voice from Belgium emerge from the sonic depths.

PS1000 soundstage and imaging are wondrous, and its chief strengths in my book.

Shew. What a journey. The break-in period has been a roller coaster. At times it seemed that the cans had actually taken a step backwards. There was one evening last week when I was convinced I had made a horrendous mistake: lifeless, piercing. A terrible listening session.

But today, wahoo! Today they are silky smooth, the imaging is focused and the detail is all there. Popped in the remastered 'Dark Side of the Moon' and I smiled the whole way through. Smiling at an empty room, I couldn't help it. Beck's 'Modern Guilt' was detailed and warm; the shrill and chilly nature of the recording (to my ears at least) has warmed up and had found a coherency that it had lacked through the 325is.

I'm going back and relistening to material I previously thought was overly bright: not anymore. Ho ho. Happy times.

I've also found that there were a couple of albums I was meh on because they seemed muddy: Peter Gabriel's 'Up' being one of them. But now, I realized that there was a whole slew of detail and nuance was there but not being reproduced before: in the PS1000s it is delightfully present. Even 'So' is taking on a whole new dimension, revealing lots of character that previously wasn't obvious.

The EAR HP-4 has landed!!

With the Balanced Havana DAC, there was a lot of sibilance. The treble also was a bit on the brighter side. Was very disappointed 

Upon changing the DAC, (balanced out of the Olive06HD), the sibilance is gone!! Treble has a lot less energy too.

WOW!!!!

If you truly love the PS1000s, this amp is THE one.

Congrats, Shahzada123. Can't wait to read your thoughts on the EAR as you spend more time on it. I'd be very interested to hear what you think of the EAR vs. the Woo WA22 you have. (I'm considering a Woo amp down the road, hence my interest.)

 been working non stop so I have not used them as much this week. Will ride it out.

 I made time for some listening last night to a Nat King Cole 'Best Of' - blew me away, again that tunnel like sound stage

 depth that just manages a bit of width either side is to behold.

 I was thinking of either the Ray Samuels Raptor or WA6-SE with mods but this one might have to make the short list

 too - pity you have more chance of finding leprachaun gold in Australia than one of these!

I had found the WA22 to be quite laid back from the get go and now compared to the EAR, it's sounding VERY laid back.

Mind you, it's lush, warm and very smooth with excellent soundstaging. The vocals are a little forward and again very smooth, without a hint of grain or sibilance. 

But it lacks the speed, attack and that last bit of thump.

All with the Sylvania 7236, Sophia Princess rectifier and RCA VT 231.

The stock tubes really suck, IMO.

The EAR sounds great with these so far

ALL Grados.

HD800

These are all very early impressions only.

More to come after a few weeks listening.

Interesting. I've read that the WA22 is the most laid back of the Woos as well, so you have a double-serving of laid back there. But I like the idea of a little speed, attack and thump. Coming from SS I don't want to go into 'culture' shock once I get my Woo.

Seems like everyone upgrades / tube rolls anyhoo, so in terms of getting up and running, I suppose the stock tubes are fine for the short term. People seem to have universal praise for the Sophias.

FWIW, I wouldn't classify the PS1000s as "laid back". I don't know if John Grado knows "laid back".

I agree with you on all accounts.

I am not mistaking euphonic/musical for "laid back" although I will admit I might not know what the hell "musical/euphonic" means qualitatively. I've read twice now on head-fi that the WA22 is laid back, and it has stuck and over-resonated with me because I have been hungry for any adjectives concerning the Woo sound, and in particular the WA22 and the WA5LE and WA5. It does strike me as curious that any Woo would have a different sonic signature than any other Woo (I brought that up in the Woo Owners forum).

Counting in influences of the tubes, plus whatever kit is upstream/downstream, laid back becomes a user controlled variable rather than an innate characteristic of the amp. 

 Yeah, the PS1000's are not laid back. They are dialed back a bit from the 325is, but that isn't saying much. The crossover to laid back is still far and wee, hazy in the distance.

The main draw for me are the balanced-ins on the WA22. Otherwise, it would be a 'simple' matter of saving up for the WA5. I really need to audition, but that is not going to happen anytime soon.

I would call amps like the MAD Ear+HD "laid back", but the WA22 (and pretty much all Woo amps that I've heard) as very dynamic and alive. But then again, tubes do make a difference.

 Assuming I roll a Sophia Princess 274B into the WA22, given one more single choice - would you swap the Sylvania 7236 in as the power tubes before the smokey

 RCA VT231's as driver tubes? 

 Quite keen to hear what the ol' WA22 can do, so far it's definitely been the most laid back Woo listen for me including the WA6 basic and WA6-SE.

 I also find that on certain recordings due to the PS1000's more distant presentation of the mids, it can be certainly more forgiving than other more

 forward sounding cans (particularly the 225/325), then again this occasionally contradicts itself with other recordings and everything is typically

 Johnny G, right up in your face - it's always a roulette wheel before pressing play with a new recording on these, impossible to presume what it

 will sound like - all part of the fun!
