Really? I found the EQ-5 a little hot and splashy on top with those but liked them an awful lot with hybrids. Good either way and I'm picking nits but I know you tried the hybrids. They're a bit mid forward but punchy and balanced otherwise.

They just seem to work for me, and quite well at that. Even with my GR07's, the sound really opens up. smile.gif

I do like those tips quite a bit an is all I'll use on my other phone as they seem to be open while not hotting up the lower treble upper mid like others wide mouths in the same situation. It was just a bit too much top for me on the 5. So many variables when listening that can differ a perception.bigsmile_face.gif

Hey friends, has anyone ever purchased Ortofons (EQ-5's) from ALO in Portland Oregon? Looking for a US distributor. I called them, and while they seemed ok, There were a lot of (I don't know) in my questions. Like what do I do if they fail within a year and so on. Guy soundd like he just ook a bong hit or something

The best place I know of is through our friend Dimitri, of musicacoustics. He's always been extremely kind and helpful, and is of course an authorized reseller.

Cool, I also see he's running them cheaper than anyone else. Is it worth the extra 20 dollars for expedited. It's DHL Priority, never dealt with them

Actually its Express mail. I think I may go for it. These EQ5's are something special

I ordered an eq-5 from Dimitri and it arrived in less than a week.  Man, I love that guy.  I must say that these are amazing in every way.  I've been preferring these over the ex1000, which really surprises me.

these are very nice IEMs indeed

i have been listening to them nonstop last 2-3 days , i also have a pair of re-272 (not bad also) which i have been rotating them with

i am using a pair of  medium fake sony hubrids and i think it tames the highs a bit and brings the bass up
