Hey Eric, Thanks for your extended explenation even though you are so busy at this time. Well for me midrange are the most important part of the music, i want them to be upfront, but not TOO much so that they overbalance the rest of the spectrum. For me the fx700 had too recessed mids and the sm3 mids just dont grab me as mids should do for me. I arill sonr rhink rhw 1964q would be my thing although the price sure is attractive. With the sm4 I got distracted from the mids and focus on other instruments, but for me I want to hear and get lost in the vocals first and foremost when listening to music, i dont listen to much instrumental only stuff.
