New Custom IEM Company: 1964 EARS (and Ericp10 fanclub)! - Page 2

That really depends on some things. Their CS is one of them. Take a look at Livewires for example. They provide a great set of customs at a cheap price but their CS is known to be horrid and their time to deliver a product is ridiculously long. A good product can only do so much when CS is horrible.

wow I love their pricing. would this quad sound close to ue11?

I'm looking forward for reviews. =)

This is one to watch. They are very decently priced.

Yes, waiting will be the hard part @ rawrster. But the communication with these guys has been very good.

No problem. This will also be my way of determining how deep I go into customs. If the product I'm reviewing turns out well, I'll be giving this company much more business.

I have a question i hope you can ask the company ericp, from what i can see from the site, they have reduced the original pricing. Any chance they might revert back to the original price?

interesting.  $130 cheaper than the UM Mages.  lets see how they hold up in sound.

in other news, that's a HUGE bass roll off.

I can answer this now. Those prices are special introductory prices and they will go up. So that is a special sale, but it won't last. How long those prices will stay there I don't know. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure. I checked all their models and they have the same graph so I don't think that is an actual frequency graph of those.

It's not. I was told the quads will have substantial bass and treble. The mids will be forward but little less than other customs. The owner told me that musicians have said they find too forward mids fatiguing after extended use as in-monitors, so he will reduce the mids some in the spectrum. Again, he assured me the mids won't be recessed.

I have an appointment for next Friday to get my molds done. So I am on the move to hearing and reviewing my first customs. If I get the the same day, they will be shipped on that day. My impressions will cost me about $30 at top audiologist and hearing specialist here in the Chi.

In that case, their dual driver pricing would not be THAT attractive. The quads are still good.

Hmmm...interesting. As I live in Portland this sure would be convenient. Looking forward to impressions.

Hopefully it works out for you eric. I wish I could get $30 impressions. I seem to get hit by the Manhattan tax where $40 or $50 is the cheapest but I guess that's the trade off I get when there are many audiologists and some of them are JHA, UE, Westone, etc. dealers.

I'm thinking of getting a new pair of customs around Dec or Jan or whenever I get enough money just to have a bit of a different flavor. These could be interesting if things turn out well.
