Question on Power Cords 3pin/2pin

Might be a very silly question but I am gonna ask anyway.

 

I have an Onkyo 9555 that has a detachable power cable that came with it. Since I have a few decent power cables lying around, I wanted to try one out. But the 9555 has only 2 pins in the input, there is no ground pin in the connector, whereas all the power cables I've seen seem to have 3 pins. The connector still fits, its standard size, but there seems to be no ground pin.

 

Would it be alright for me to use the aftermarket 3 pin power cable with the 9555, the ground just wont be connected to anything, but I just wanna make sure this isnt an issue

 

Anyone?
