They are not as balanced as the K-702, and still the 701/2 consider to have more bass compare to JH-13, 4070, K-1000, DT-48,

 

You'll need to listen to music ones in acoustic room, or studio control room and to understand better the bass roll in music. Actually is very simple, if the bass take over...is called basshead!

Meh...

 

I liked them better with SS amps, even directly plugged into the EMU 0404 or into my Presonus HP4.  The LDMKIII did sound great, but it seemed to colour the sound too much for my liking, and the imaging seemed to be slightly inferior to some SS amps that I've tried.  It powered the 250ohms NO problem though.

DT880 + ss amp the sound is to stiff, analytic, lost musical taste. DT880 + tube amp = juice musical.dt880smile.png

For Me ss amp one good if you pairing with AKG 701k701smile.gif
