DIY 3.5mm interconnect - what cable for short run - 10cm

Hi, can anyone recommend a cable AND supplier for a home made interconnect for my mp3 player headphone jack to my portable CMoybb i.e 3.5mm to 3.5mm plugs.

I can find lots of nice plugs from Neutrik, Fisual, etc but not a lot of suitable cables or suppliers.

I have seen a listing on ebay for a complete Van Damme Silver cable but I want the cable on it's own so I can make a couple the right lengths for me.

Any help would be welcomed, even if someone could tell me what the proper name of the cable is as I'm guessing it's 'interconnect' - is it 4 core that I need? Or is 3 core enough?

Thanks.

Only need 3 wires for this sort of cable, a 4th wire would simply be an extra ground wire.

Ok, thanks.

Any ideas on where to source some decent stuff like silver coated copper? It's need such a short run I could afford solid gold I think :-).

I've ordered the Neutrik plugs.

Thanks again for your help.

You gotta have decent soldering skill, poor soldering would lead to sound unbalance. Neutrik would be a nice starter plug to start with.
