Hey everyone, I was just having a flick through my saved head-fi photos and came across this Sony player, I was just curious on what model it is? Thanks in advance.walkmanaa760.jpg

Maybe Sony nwz-A840

Most probably something from the Sony NW-A840 range which is an asian model (see asian characters at bottom of screen) and comes with capacity up to 64Gb.

They were supposed to release something similar in the Western market but it doesn't seem to have happened. We only got the Sony NWZ-A845 with 16Gb.

Thanks for the replies guys. It seems you're right about it being an asian model TCD (no pun intended), I just thought it was a nice looking player. If I was to order one from Japan would English be optional as a language?

Japanese only. No English.

Anyhow, looks like there'll be a UK exclusive model of those 64GB NWZ-A8XX here

But at 299GBP!!! , I might aswell settle down with a 160gb X7!

It'll probably have the stupid volume restriction like most SONY DAP's have in the EU, you can thank the French for that.

Well found ... about time they started appearing in the UK.

£299 is way too much but it's only a matter of time before the price starts to drop. They'll be under £200 within 6 months.

Whats the point you wont be able to hear it.

Hell no am I paying that for a 64gb Sony,...glad I bought my iPod classic!!!

Yep, that looks just like the A847 I got, so it's probably that.

299 GBP doesn't seem all that expensive though, I recall I paid around €300-350 for the Japanese version, and this one has VAT included.

But since Sony is/has released an updated version, you might want to get that instead.

Well, compared to the cost of a Ferrari a Lamborghini is a pretty good deal.... I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

Mine you can turn the volume limit off on.

The Volume limit within the software has nothing to do with the volume restriction imposed on SONY DAP's within the EU, two different things entirely.
