I think I have a problem with a sellers on audiogon, might have been ripped off

Thread Starter

I bought a PS Audio Digital Link III from audiogon on the 16th of October from "Badgirl". I paid $550 for the DLIII and $95 on top for USPS Overnight Shipping.

I thought it would be overnight, but I e-mailed her a few days later and she said that is only inside the US, it would take a week to Europe. A few days later after that I e-mailed her again and asked for status on the order, she said she brought the package to the post office but they needed a ZIP code. I told her I am from Ireland and you don't need one for her.

After a week I looked at my audiogon and in the sale section it stated she has yet to accept the bid, even though my payment has been sent. Now I e-mailed her today after I asked her to ring USPS and she said there is a problem, which she will "correct" on Monday, Said she only put 200 (not stating which currency)on the insurance of the package so i'd have to pay smaller taxes and numbers must match???

She has great feedback (514 positive, 5 neutral) but I recognise you can alter this if you wanted to. It's been 15 days. What should I do?

everything you can to get your money back.

15 days means it probably won't arrive. I have never known anything from the U.S. take 2 weeks and thats after paying more for overnight expedition which should have sped the whole process up.

If you paid via PayPal, begin a dispute. If you funded the purchase with a credit card, contact the issuer to begin a refund, as well. You won't get two refunds, however, I'd put both in motion just to fully protect yourself.

You should also leave appropriate feedback at Audiogon and perhaps contact the administration there to let them know.

I would communicate first, just ask her to scan the shipping invoice/form and send it to you and if she did not do that, just do what Erik suggested.

Before you buy and pay, you must communicate very clear with the seller about things that important to you. After he/she agreed, you just proceed, otherwise you just dont, imo.

you can recover funds for non-delivery of item (ebay or not) so a paypal dispute is an option.
