I just bought Mos Def and Talib Kweli's Black Star album and it sounds fantastic. And I've always thought that D'Angelo's Voodoo is one of the best recorded albums in my collection. I think you might have to get off the beaten track...but not too far...to find the good stuff. Maybe it takes finding artists who aren't your typical superficial rap guys.
