Headphone amp as a preamp?

I hate to start a thread over this seemingly simple question but I cant find the answer, although i'm sure its staring me in the face.

My question is do I need to keep my headphones plugged in on my headphone amp while i'm using the AUX output to listen thru my stereo?

I have a Little Dot MKIII, and I heard that on tube amps if nothing is plugged into the output you could fry the tubes, maybe this only applies in the guitar world but I would like to be sure. Thanks for any help.

1) No idea why you would want to keep headphones plugged in while listening to speakers...

2) Some tube amps don't work with no load, others are fine with it... but then again, you are loading the tubes - you're using it as a preamp.

Thanks for the response I knew it sounded weird but I was afraid to mess something up. It's better to be safe than sorry. Right? smily_headphones1.gif
