Time magazine recently published a list of the top 100 most inflential gadgets.

A few of those were bought and paid for ads. 

 

The Dyson Air Multiplier. Seriously? It's just an overpriced fan.

Looks like they just took a bunch of random gadgets and stuck them in order of obscurity.

I suppose that's how Bose ended up on the list, too.

And that Dyson fan is just a gimmick. Fans were perfected by Emerson back in the 1930s.

There are some head-scratchers on the list.  I like the Diamond Rio though. smily_headphones1.gif

Okay good.  I'm glad I'm not alone at wondering about some of those things on the list.

 

But I do enjoy that the speak & spell is up there.  Though the text to speech voice used still give me nightmares

That list is so bogus. This is exactly why I don't read TIME anymore.

 

Someone tell me I'm seeing things because there's no way even the most corrupt journalist could put the iPad on that list...

That is a very strange hobbled-together list of stuff. Velcro, definitely, but the Roomba?

I'd agree with the Sony Walkman TPS-L2.  I remember a friend getting one of those and hearing actual decent stereo from a portable cassette player.  I was pretty much blown away by the sound.  I'd say that it launched the portable player craze much more so than the D50. 

 

What would your number one Ultimate Gadget be?
