k70x with a leather or synthetic pad?

Has anybody tried the k70x series with a pad that is like a leather or plastic?  Do you think it would help the bass definition at all? I assume it would change them drastically, i just wondered if anyone has tried something like this. I know it would be diy but it got me thinking itd be something worth trying...

   I tried looking it up but didnt find much.
