Hey guys, I just purchased some Earsonic SM3 and the RSA Predator. I am usually a full-size man, but am venturing out to get a portable rig going. I just have a couple of small questions regarding LODs.
Basically from what I gather from searching, the LOD detours the external OPA and amplifier in the iPod, and instead puts it through the Predator correct? From there the Predator does its magic and spits out the better signal via the headphone out on the predator, where I would have my IEMs plugged in? Just wanted to make sure I had this part correct.
Another couple of questions I have is the difference between LODs and interconnects? Also, how does something like the iphone and predator sit in the back of jean pockets? It seems they might be too big? How doe people usually combat this?
Finally, what are some suggestions you have for me? I have been doing plenty of reading and it seems like there isn't much sound difference between cheaper LODs and more expensive ones. The increase in price is a result of workmanship and aesthetics. What are some suggestions for me, starting out with regards to a nice sounding LOD?
