yep, his source most certainly has DC, thats the whole point of this mod, to create DC offset so you can correct it again

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

The point of the imod is to remove the small low quality caps from the ipod and put better quality caps elsewhere.
You are not creating DC offset, you are just moving it around and converting a device that can be plugged into anything reasonably safely into something that requires care and thought in use. The kicker is that the modified units look pretty much identical to the stock units... I'm amazed that there are not more reports of amplifier or headphone destructionation due to misuse of these things.
You can probably guess I'm not such a fan of the whole thing.

i'm guessing you didnt pick up on my facetious tone without an emoticon, sometimes you yankies seem to struggle with that
i'm surprised, especially considering the usual tone of your posts hehe. i'm perfectly aware of what the aim is and I agree, the amount of queries I have fielded in the DIYMOD thread that state that they have 'tried it out' without any caps and their 'headphones are fine'; is a worry. most have no idea what kind of roulette they have played
