DC blocking caps before or after volume pot? - Page 2

yep, his source most certainly has DC, thats the whole point of this mod, to create DC offset so you can correct it again wink.gif

The point of the imod is to remove the small low quality caps from the ipod and put better quality caps elsewhere.

 

You are not creating DC offset, you are just moving it around and converting a device that can be plugged into anything reasonably safely into something that requires care and thought in use. The kicker is that the modified units look pretty much identical to the stock units... I'm amazed that there are not more reports of amplifier or headphone destructionation due to misuse of these things.

 

You can probably guess I'm not such a fan of the whole thing.

i'm guessing you didnt pick up on my facetious tone without an emoticon, sometimes you yankies seem to struggle with that tongue.gif i'm surprised, especially considering the usual tone of your posts hehe. i'm perfectly aware of what the aim is and I agree, the amount of queries I have fielded in the DIYMOD thread that state that they have 'tried it out' without any caps and their 'headphones are fine'; is a worry. most have no idea what kind of roulette they have played
