So my Nuforce Icon started behaving weirdly. It froze Media Monkey. I turned it off and then back on again. Then the protection circuit started to kick on constantly. Finally a "POP" and some smoke started to pour out of the chassis. I unplugged the whole thing and opened it up and found that the resistor in position R-90 is fried. I can't make out the color stripes any more. I bought it in 08 so it's not under warranty anymore. Nuforce wants $75 for a new board to be shipped my way.
I'd love to just try and replace that resistor and see what happens before I have to pay for another board. Can anyone who has one from that era look at their Icon board and tell me the colors of the resistor in position R-90?
