Help with Old Archos Studio 10

Thread Starter

I can't get my computer (Windows XP) to recognize my ancient Archos Studio 10.  When I plug it in I get 3 "USB beeps", unlike the normal sound you get when attaching a USB device.  The unit goes into active USB mode but it doesn't show up on computer as an attached disk.  I have several hours of programming that I need to recover (not to mention lots of good rips, but those are at least replaceable) and I'd rather not try to record it in real time if I don't have to.  I am assuming I need some kind of driver even though it used to be plug and play but maybe not with XP.

I've searched around for the last couple of days.  Any download links seem to be bogus except for firmware updates, which I can't use unless the computer sees the device.  Any ideas?

You could try running Windows 98/SE in Virtual PC.
