30th November Evening - Mini Meet in Bank, London

Calling London/South East head-fiers,

There will be an afterwork mini-meet in London on the evening of the 30th November in a closed function room at the Counting House pub on Cornhill in Bank.

Here is a map to the pub, and here is one of local car parks.

We'll start around 6.00

Common sense guidelines that barely need to be noted:

  • If you want to wear other people's headphones - wash your hair on the day of the meet and wash your hands at the event before coming in. I'll bring along fresh paper table cloths for the tables;
  • Treat all gear and all head-fiers with respect;
  • The room I've booked is the listening room - there's a large pub just outside for general socialising.

Last time I did this the room was free to book, this time they charged me £25 - I'm cool to cover this but if anyone sees fit to chip in a few quid on the night then it'd be gratefully received. No pressure to though; I won't go bankrupt!

A tuesday isn't really ideal as I have university on the following morning. But I will still try to go.

I've got work the following morning, like every other morning.

It won't be a late night.

Since I'm from Sheffield I might have problems with attending. Probably weekend would be best for me but I will try to be on 30th November anyway.

As for the gear I might bring with me - still not really clear. I was going to purchase Pioneer SE-LE40 from one of head-fiers but he already traded it. Now there are two options - HD600 or DT880 depending on which one I will buy soon. If anyone would like to try my Whiplash MiniMAX AMP I am able to bring it with me as well. People say it synergises well with HD6x0 and K70x.

I'm in. Bringing...

Beyer T1

AKG 702

Macbook Pro

Apogee Duet

multiplug etc and music

I'll chip in some cash for the room. EddieE, If you know about any car parks in the area, that would be useful.

I'm in.

Gear will be:

U Ed9, D-7000, HD600 with APS, ATH ESW10JPN, HD25 with TWAg, JH13's

iRiver H140 with Sonosax SX-DA2, H120 with D10, iMod-PV-Cap with Pico Slim.

I'll leave the heavier stuff at home unless there is a strong desire to hear the Phonitor.

Regards

I will come along.  I don't have much if anything to bring, so will be looking to steal what I can.

I hope to make it - i have some old Sansui cans (as per profile pic) that may amuse, other than that, pair of HD600's which i'd like to a/b against the other pair comin' as i was not as chuffed as i'd hoped when i got them. quite willing to chip in share of rent.

Wow there's some nice gear this time biggrin.gif

I will bring my Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000 if I still have them in a months time, which I probably will.
Also I will bring whatever my portable gear consists of, either a Yuin G1A or Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9, and either a Teclast T-51 or a Rockboxed Sansa Fuze.

I'm looking forward to this biggrin.gif

Will update the leading post with these details shortly for the meantime - here is a link to a map.

Here is a map with car parks nearby marked on (if I got this right).

Looking forward to this now!

Sorry guys, I might not be able to come after all.

I have just been in a traffic accident, and I have minor head injuries which will take a little while to heal.

So sorry to hear that and wish you well.  Hope you weren't wearing headphones at the time.  No seriously, hoping you recover soon.

Im very interested to come and have a look at some portable amps. Im a total noob so a meet sounds ideal to gain some knowledge from you hardcore head-fiers. I will try and organise it with work to leave early. Hope to see some of you guys there.
