Just got back from Christmas shopping and saw a Fedex truck driving behind me. Tracking said my V8 will be delivered on Tuesday, but from past experience, Fedex sometimes deliver faster than ETD. Sure enough, the driver parked in front and delivered my V8. Will give my impression and comparison with my V6S later.

A quick comparison:

1. Both sounds identical with V8 has a tad more rumble, but not boomy and not affecting the mid at all. Otherwise, they share the same sound signature.

2. The V8 has a tad bigger soundstage.

3. V8 is slightly larger than the V6S. Even the tube where you put the tip is larger in the V8.

4. The graphite cable on the V8 is slightly thicker than the black one I got for my V6S.

So far, I am really enjoying the V8. In my opinion, if you like a leaner bass, get the V6S, but if you like a bit more oomph on your bass, get the V8.

Thanks for this quick comparison and very nice + clear pics! Now I'm going to sit back and wait for tmorterlaings question about more specific descriptions of the bass of these two :D

Also waiting for my v6s. Mine has been assembled since 12/18, but hasn't been buffed or shipped yet. I hope it comes before christmas so can I try it out with my new dx90!

V6S + DX90 (with Lurker0´s 2.1.5 L2 FW) sounds really, really great!!! Used it today for about 2 hours while cleaning the house...

Has anyone here gotten their 1964 with the ambient ports?  How do they sound?  I want something to work out in but without blocking out sound so I can hear with my wife/kids need me.

I can definitely say that the V8 has awesome bass. I can hear details in low freq that I couldn't hear in my V6S. I can see how the V8's bass might be a bit too much if you are coming from bass light IEM.

Got my V8 back from minor refit today by FedEx - Woo Hoo!

I'm so happy to have it back (along with the V6S I sent as a guide) I dropped the sale price of my 1+2!

So happy to have them back before Xmas....

Sounds about like I heard them when I visited 1964 HQ. The only exception was that I thought V6S had larger sound stage vs. V8 (and both V6S & V8 kicked the rest of the lineup to the curb in terms of soundstage!).

Hopefully this will curb @tmorterlaing's anxiety attacks wink_face.gif

Pictures of our V6 orders from Black Friday (rushed orders). These are our first customs and we are loving them.

Mine using Double Helix Cables (I 'm and big Deadpool fan)

My wife's

Took 1964 5 days to complete and ship our orders after getting our impressions, the customer service we got was awesome. Shortly after completing the second order we got an email saying they were refunding the second shipping change and they would ship them together, really is a small thing but they did not have to do this and we did not ask. I emailed a few questions before placing the orders and they were all answered.

Mine are replacing some Westone W4r and my wife is replacing her Shure 425's. I debated on the V6s but I am glad I went with the v6 as I find these to be "bassy" enough for my somewhat older ears:)

Agree with ya on how awesome the V8 sounds! The bass for both the V6S and V8 is just phenomenal!! Though like you said the V8 bass is a tad better and more impactful as compared to the V6S but is still as clear and as detailed as the V6S.

However, I still felt that the V8 has a much intimate soundstage as compared to the V6S. Haha

I'm with you on the soundstage being more intimate with V8.
