How do you achieve position 1 and 2?

From the description page I could only tell that port has to be open slightly for ADEL to work

And this was their reply, which sounds the opposite..

*ADEL membranes will still work when ambience is turned off. Turning the knob further will completely disable the membranes. This lets you hear what it would sound like without the amazing ADEL tech.

I just asked them to further clarify..

Pos 2 works like a muffler on a car. Pneumatically open (air moves) but acoustically shut (sound deadened)

Makes sense to me, and seems to agree with Vitalit's comment.

1) screw all the way in tight and it presses against the membrane to disable it
2) loosen the screw a bit and the membrane is free, but but the port is still closed
3) loosen the screw further and the port begins to open

How did they fully disable the membrane and allow to work as conventional IEMs without damaging the membrane with the knob turned further?

Hmm yes very interested to hear their replies.

Vitality,

Thanks for posting!

Wanting to back either the A10 or A12.

Love my V6-Stage, but didn't care for the (over)emphasized bass of the V8. On the other hand I wouldn't want less bass than the V6-Stage.

How does the bass compare between the these two V-line IEMs and the A10 and A12?

Also, I had my V6-Stage made as a Universal. Will that also be an option with the A10 & A12?

You're probably better off asking those questions in the comments section of their Kickstarter. No one here will be able to answer you.

Ahh now i understand, that makes more sense lol.

Now the main concern is on the (anything in between) part.

As this is a real time movement, i'm assuming the movement of the knob is smooth and any small turns made will affect the sound signature + ambient being let in.
As it is hard for us to measure the exact small turn movement for each earpiece (left + right) this would result an imbalanced sound from both the left + right earpiece.

Vitaliy is the CTO for 1964 Ears, so he's actually the best person to answer while he's still online here lol :)

Is he now? Sorry, I'm on my mobile device and I can't see account titles.

Nah, there is no title in his head-fi account so most wouldn't know too.

Since some people might not be aware of another 1964 thread that's specifically for ADEL-related stuff,

http://www.head-fi.org/t/739712/1964-ears-adel-iems

I'll post my questions here:

Looking at the MSRP pricing of the U-series with the addition of ADEL is quite close to the current pricing of V-series in universal form.

But the custom A-series, on the other hand, jump way above in MSRP pricing in regards to V8 with:

- the same ADEL as the U series

- addition of 2 or 4 more drivers

Almost seems that Kickstarter prices for the customs should have been the MSRP pricing or just slightly more.

Hope to see some transparency and reasoning in regards to the big jump in MSRP pricing for the custom A-series

For those who have questions, you know you could just back their $5 pledge and ask?

You won't get charged until 36 days are up, and before then you could cancel your pledge if you want.

I already did. But asking here since the company's CTO is here, and it's more about the future direction of the company in regards to pricing that would still matters to us Head-Fiers long after the Kickstarter deal finishes

I hope your question gets answered for all our sakes. I'd like to see the Kickstarter price for the A series to drop too.

Impossible since you can't change a tier once someone has pledged for it.
