Audiologists like to use foam because they don't have to deal w/ cotton strands left behind in the ear.  Most impressions are never made extending that far anyway but I'm not going to argue w/ Jerry Harvey.

All I can say is it worked for me, and my fit was dead on from day one. Just saying what the "tip sheet" noted. As it turned out, my audiologist already used cotton, just serendipity I guess.

the dual lows on the triple are low/mid's

so it's low/mid low/mid high not low low high/mid

I'm aware that the tuning of the driver is more important than just the brand name but at least we know it's good quality components now, yes?

Well what else are they going to use? It's not like there's that many big manufacturers of BA drivers. I'll wait a few weeks before deciding on if I should go for their triple driver or something else. I think 2 customs should have me set for a long time.

Hehe i did the impressions exactly the same as you 5 days ago.
The worst part is when slime from your mouth keep building up, i just made it in time ><.

I really want 1964 ears but because of tax i buyed starkey, maybe i return the iems and buy 1964 but cant wait for review.

She said if anything goes wrong to just call them and they'll do them over right away. They didn't use cotton to block the material from down the ear. They use a some type of blue spongy foam like thingy with string connected to it. She said it was better than cotton. I'm getting my ES5s tmr and FedEx is scheduled to pickup my impressions to go out to 1964ears for the quads tmr. 

Will definitely post some thoughts. :)
