Philips HDD100

Ive read some negative and very postive reviews...more negative then positive but the negative reviews are older so they might not have used the newest firmware.

Do any of you guys have this player? If you do could you please give me your impressions/opinions/ mini reviews.

Thanks, btw first post

I can't remember what it was exactly that made buying it a stupid thing to do, but I believe it has to do with something on it needing proprietary software to work ? You should look over at www.dapreview.com for a full overview. PLUS...there's the seacrh tool at the top. Look ^ Besides, that's a rediculous msrp for a 15 gig DAP. For that price you're better off getting a IHP-120 iPod or a Karma.

Um, apparently none of the stuff over at that link I provided for you is working at the moment. Someone must be working on it. Austonia...whu'z up with dat ? Gonna be fully functional soon ?

yah Ive already seen the review and talked the Robert from there. They told me not to buy it...but I can resist. Most places are selling it for <299

the only thing going for it is the design, which is nice of course. But you need it for more that just looking at right? It's the functionality that's messed up. Sooo many better choices out there.

yah but for more money or a brick player (zen) I tried using the Zen, it was just way too big.

Dude..why don't you get a Karma then ? You can get one for around $270-$280. First off, Best Buy price matches, and Walmart is selling it for $290, PLUS there's the Rio rebate for $20 which makes it around $270. OR you can get it at Amazon for even less I believe when you sign on for their instant credit...you get mega discounts on the spot.

If you don't want to do that , then obviously you've already answered your own question. Just don't come back saying how crappy the thing is and ...why didn't you guys warn me etc... So far everyone who you've spoken with has told you not to get it, but that hasn't phased you. Oh well...

Good luck, let us know how it works out...perhaps there IS gold in them thar' hills !
