I have some iGrados, which I use at the gym with my iPhone. Overall I'm very impressed with them for what they are. After almost 2 years of use, the cable has failed at the mini-jack and I need to get them recabled. Grado will do it for $18. But I'm wondering if there is a better alternative to the stock cables. I've read the threads about Canare Star Quad and other options. But the one thing I don't want is a fat, rigid cable when I'm at the gym. Id be interested in something that is still relatively thin and unobtrusive, but maybe a tad more durable, and better sound would be a bonus.

Maybe a retrofit of a 3rd party partable headphone cord that would be a tad bid more sturdy?

BTW, one thing I really like about the iGrados is that the miniplug works with my bumpered iPhone - this is a problem with a lot of other plugs - they do not go in all the way because of the small size of the drilling on the bumper.
