So many audio-gd. Which one should I get?

I've been reading through the many threads about audio-gd dacs and just get more confused.

I'm looking for a new DAC as I currently have none. I've had a Lynx L22 sound card that I liked a lot and after that I've been using a Linn Sneaky DS that I also liked a lot. Now I'm looking for something that would be better or equal (sq/musical wise) to what I've had before.

I would feed the DAC from my computer's soundcard by digital out use the USB connection of the DAC if it has one. I would then connect the audio-gd by RCA out to an amplifier or pre-amplifier. I don't need a head phone amplifier as I already have one.

Which dac should I go for if I'm looking for equal or better soundquality than what I've experienced before?

Probably the higher end ones before you notice real differences I am guessing. A Ref-9 with a Digital Interface to transport the USB is my suggestion.

Thanks for your reply. I wonder if Jon L tried audio-gd out, he use to have a Lynx card..

Does anyone know how the diffferent audio-gd products compare sound quality wise? How would they be rated agains each other, up to the best?

How do these DACs compare to for example a squeezebox v3? I had the squeezebox v3 for a while and it sounded really bad compared to Lynx L22 and Linn Sneaky DS.

buy the one which you could afford, I have REF7HE and very happy with it. It shall be my last dac.

I agree with you, SB3 analogue out is only for very causal listening....

What about the DAC19DSP? How does it compare to cheaper stuff like Squeezebox3 etc.?  Is it still really entry level gear or what could I expect from it? How does it compare to for example an Oritek modded Zhaolo?

Is it a lot better than regular sound cards like creative audigy and stuff?
