ASUS Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim -vs- Auzentech X-Fi Forte

Thread Starter

I'm trying to decide on a sound card to use in a HTPC I have planned, and the only requirements are that it's low-profile, and that it's no longer than 195mm (both of which these two cards meet) - if there's a card better than either of the two (even if it's not out yet), then please let me know.

I intend to use the card solely with headphones (Sony MDR-V600, at the moment), and mostly for Blu-rays (with gaming and music on the side). I understand the Forte has a built-in headphone amp, but the HDAV1.3 apparently has better Blu-ray support, along with that interesting "24p" support. The HDAV1.3, however, would also severely limit my motherboard choices, due to the PCI interface - I intend on using a mini-ITX motherboard.

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I'm going with the ASUS card, apparently the Forte has a problem that develops after about a year that is pretty serious but isn't acknowledged by Auzentech RMA for some reason.
