i'm paring down my equipment and going completely single-ended, so one of my favorite cans, the balanced akg k501, is for sale to a good home. i balanced these myself and did a pretty good job, though i'm no professional and it won't look as good as some of the pro services out there. but, they sound fantastic.
the cable is a grado rs-1 cable covered with tech-flex, ending in a neutrik 4-pin XLR connection. the XLR -> single ended adapter cable (no picture) is also made from the other end of the rs-1 cable. i modded the original single entry version so it's now a dual entry headphone.
i've been the only owner of these and they come from a pet/smoke-free home. asking $235 shipped in the USA. please let me know if you have any questions. here are some pics:
NOTE: i re-did the the left and right heatshrink on these since these pics were taken. they look better now and the right side is red and the left cable is white. see the pics in the above gallery for the latest pics of the left and right cables. one thing to note is that the left side "k501" sticker is missing...it was there at the arizona meet we had last month (see picture on top of the Eddie Current system above)...but now it's missing and i can't seem to find it.
