Replacing the motor suspension band on the Pro-Ject Debut III

Thread Starter

I noticed that mine had snapped, and so ordered a new one. Got out the screwdriver and pulled out the screws that attach the motor to the metal plate, between which the band rests (the metal plate is what screws onto the plinth for travel). So I pulled out the old band, put in the new one, went to screw it back together and...the metal plate doesn't screw into the motor's brackets anymore. The metal is too strong to have bent without my noticing, but I have no idea what changed and why I can't get it back together again. Can anyone help?

I'm not familiar with the Pro-Ject decks, but see if you can find the manual over at the Vinyl Engine. They also have forums where you might find an answer or could ask someone.

Good luck with your deck.
