Improving my Cmoy or leaving it all together?

Hi. So I have built my Cmoy and while Im happy with it I would want to ad versitility to it as well as improve it over all and spend another 50-80$ on it or leave it as is and buy a prebuild amp like FiiO 7, so I need help decide and to do so have several questions.

1) Does BUF634 improve the sound of the Cmoy by much? I mean its like 5$ for the chip, but does it make it sound better or is there no noticable improvment?

2) What would be a good dual opam[ to try next thats considered to provide great sound? I have tried OPA 227(my fav right now) but would like something a little bit less anyalytical in sound.

3) I know how to incorportae adjustable bass boost, but is there a way to add adjustable trebble as well?

And how much better will the Cmoy sound after incorporating a better Opamp as well as BUF 634?

My Cmoy is built to these specs

1uF input Maylar caps

5.7 gain.

OPA227

4700uF Power caps

18v power supply from 2 9 volt batteries.

What I would buy to improve it

Slightly larger case (around 8$ or so at my local eletronics store)

Bass boost part (around 5-10$ in parts)
BUF 634 8$

spare parts around 5$

new better OPAMP for around 20$ or less

But how much of improvment would that give? Especialy since Im useing HD25-1? Thanks all.

Try another amp. Something easy to build. Can be a class A amp without any opamp. I was never satisfied with opamp, ic or bipolar amplifiers. It's worth to try something new. You can be surprised. And it's not necessary to make a case for it.

Try this design, it's pretty easy to build and sound great.

I use this as my desktop amp.

Here is a design you could try...

It's a single loop buffered amp.

I don't know, opamp is still opamp. He should try something different. Mosfet is cheap and interesting.

I'm just giving him a couple of choices...

I think he should do the Szekeres too.

Buy the way, I like the job you did on your Richard Murdey amp.

hmm. I am looking for a portable amp....and the desigs from Avro_arrow look more like mini amps for the desk, wich I might build later. But atm I listent to everything through my zune. maybe I should buy a prebuilt portable amp as I dont have to much time to build another amp from scratch, and move on to building a tube amp...always wanted to build one . Regadless some answers to my questions would be greatly apreciated.

Thanks all of suggestions though.

The single loop buffered amp is a portable but

you would want to run it from a 8 or 10 cell

NiHM battery pack. AAA or AA would do.

A 9 volt battery is just too weak.

The Szekeres is definitely not portable.

Thanks. I think I will end up puting my Cmoy away for now and picking up eather FiiO E7 or  iBasso T4 as I will never be able to build sometihng as small and portable and robust for that price especialy with the rechargable batteries (80 hours out of E7 O.o....) , and let my self creat a nice desktop amp later. maybe. Thanks everyone.
