Looking for a high capacity, non iPod MP3 player

Currently I'm using a 160 gig iPod Classic. I'm ready to stray away from the iPod. I don't use iTunes, so that's not a reason why. Someone on the IRC channel suggested a Creative Zen Xtra as an option, as it uses a 2.5" IDE hard drive that can be upgraded. When modded, is this a good player to use on a day to day basis, that has good battery life?

Obviously he needs it, but look into the iRiver players and seevif you can find a 120-140 I think are the model numbers.
