Alt-Country Fans!: local Houston love! I shot and recorded this for some pals in "Ancient Cat...

I was lucky enough to get an invite to shoot/edit video and record this awesome alt-country act (made up of some locals I know) last Oct. 14 ...

The details of the shoot, including gear used, etc. can be found below.

I'm posting a Vimeo vid in HD, which, of course, will sound/look best if you actually load the full res/full screen version at Vimeo ... but that's just me being all artistically nitpicky and ghey ;-) . So watch it however you want.

I'm real proud of these guys/gals; nobody else in Houston is doing anything remotely as fine and committed as this:

...

Where: Rudyards Pub, Houston TX (small, intimate pub, pretty good sound)

When: October 14, 2010

Camera: Canon HV40

Mics: Zoom H4N/Audio Technica AT822 ('bout 18 feet from stage)

Shooters: Joel Harris (aka "s1rrah") and Carlos Ramirez

House Sound: Joel Olmechuck

Video sound rec/mastering: Joel Harris (aka "s1rrah")

Band: Ancient Cat Society (Sergio, Haley & Austin)

Genre: Alt-Country, (aka "War Torn Youth Gospel")

...

Enjoy.

Not bad for a bunch of 20 something hacks, eh?

;-)

Hey - they're pretty good!

Wish there were more alt.country fans around here, though.  smily_headphones1.gif
