So I'm in the market for new IEMs. Last spring, I had sprung for a set of PL-50s, and loved them, till they spontaneously died on me.
Anyone feel like helping me evaluate/suggest some choices?
Right now, topping my list are the HJE-900s
Criteria:
Looking for under $100, and durable.
The things I liked about the PL50s, were the detail, and how transparent they sounded. Very good spatial cues as well. I loved how small and comfortable they were, the marshmallows I have never felt right. They had just enough isolation with the stock foams to drown out the outside world, but let enough sound in to be safe to wear outside, while running.
I just wished they had a bit more bass.
I love the airiness of the KSC-75s how open they are, but they sound a bit muddled in the bass.
I listen to a lot of rock, metal, some electronica, as well as a fair bit of classical.
I currently have the KSC-75, Marshmallows, and the JVC HA RX-700.
Playing out of my laptop, and sansa clip+
So, any tips/suggestions/whatevers? Last few times I trusted to Head-Fi I ended up with something great, that made me appreciate my music in a new way. Looking for more of the same (no pressure guys)
Thanks in advance
