Introduction of E9 - Page 5

http://forum.miccastore.com/index.php/topic,175.0.html

Very interesting topic if you (like me) want to see what's inside your E9, without opening it...

Feiao,

I have a question about the output of the E9.  I was trying to calculate how much power it puts out into 50 Ohms, but I get different numbers from your specs.

1 W into 16 Ohms:

E=sqrt(P*R)

=sqrt(1*16)

=4 volts

P=(E^2)/R

=(4^2)/50

=0.32 W=320 mW

If I use 80 mW into 600 Ohms:

E=sqrt(0.08*600)

=6.93 volts

P=(6.93^2)/50

=0.96 W=960 mW

Is my math correct and am I using the right formulas?  Why are the numbers so different and which one is closer to the real power output into 50 Ohms?

Thanks

There are a 10 ohms resistor in the output of the amp section. so you need to consider the resistor.

Can you show me how to do this?  Sorry, I'm not an engineer.

I don't understand what I need to do.  Do you mean calculate for 1 W into 26 Ohms and 80 mW into 610 Ohms?

P=sqrt((1*26)^2)/50=0.26 W into 50 Ohms (woops, =0.52 W into 50, edited)

P=sqrt((.08*610)^2)/50=0.976 W into 50 Ohms

This is probably not what you meant, sorry.
