does anyone know where i can find replacement drivers for the d2000 http://www.mcmelectronics.com has tons of denon parts, but its inventoried by part number, and i don't know that frown.gif so if you happen to know the part# that would be cool-

i stripped the screw entry on the driver- took it apart to many times, if you have a fix for this, it would be appreciated.

thanks

I thought about getting a small screw and nut from the hardware store- I don't know why this stripped so easily...I dont believe loctite would work, the only thing I can think of is super glue, but that might be a bit too permanent.

Godamn this DIY smily_headphones1.gif

sorry about the super big photo-

Can't imagine wanting to replace a whole driver just for that, just use a slightly larger screw.

No doubt, do you think I'll have to drill a pilot hole through the headphone chassis? or fill it with epoxy and use a self tapping screw?

Irionic, that picture is from one of your posts smily_headphones1.gif

I would just use a slightly thicker bolt, it'll tap itself and hold well, just don't play with it too much afterwards.

Your pictures are not clear at all, but I doubt you'd want to get a new driver if you've screwed(pun intended) the enclosure....but it'd be interesting to get the drivers spare part number, coz I'm HIGHLY doubtful that the d2k/d5k share the same drivers...sounds like utter bs to me.

I believe the only difference between the d2k and d5k are the wood cups and cable.

Sorry about the bad pictures-

I've heard the d2k w/ dynamat dampened cups, I've seen the d5k graphs...I don't believe any of this. And when I asked the MOT who said so, he said "they look the same"...wow, that's what I call a hard clue. The same MOT said that a modded d7k sounds better than a R10, that makes my eyebrows a bit like this too: images?q=tbn:Ftss8ZIs-8JSxM
