Need a place to start with IEMs

I was looking into IEMS because my ad700's sound just as good, maybe a little better for my gaming than my 15 dollar skullcandy earbuds.  the earbuds do a nice job at isolating sound and i think they are incredible for only 15 dollars.  Anyways, I would like to get even higher quality sound from a earbud so I was checking these out:

Would these be a nice first pair?  I've seen people mod these for detachable cables, could someone point me in the right direction for that as well?  Thanks for any input.

THE ECLIPSE's look rather nice and they come with all those tools and case and that might be nice.  I heard the EC2 dont come with a case or cleaning tool or anything so that would be nice.  They are also 200 dollars off so that is a big plus.  Right now I am looking into that set now.  Anything better than these for their price range?

how would the eclipse's compare to my ad700's for gaming/movies?  music pretty much sounds great with anything with my xtrememusic xfi card, so im not worried about that.  do the eclipse's have decent bass and good detail as well as positioning at all?

they look cool and ive heard great things.  out of these 3 which is the best and will withhold for years?

1.eclipse 3

2.monster turbine

3.ultimate ears 700

i think im gonna start with the monster turbines, and if i don't like them i will move onto the custom 3's, and if i don't like them, i will try the panasonics hje900's.  does this sound good?
