Yeah this is a good deal, so tempting, the last sale @ $150 was a bit too much I thought, now this, I think this will be too hard to resist

I didn't really care for the xba3, I was so excited about purchasing it but then when I received it...i sent it back 2 days after. It sounds a little too tinny (or metallic) for my taste.

Thats tempting. Those IEMs are just gorgeous...Not for me (I got better) but perhaps this is the time to get some family members into decent gear...

If you're gifting I do like my M31p, the iPhone version of the $15 pair on woot. I use mine at work daily and they're excellent budget IEMs. I may pick up a pair without the mic for when I inevitably break mine.

Yep I heard them before and yes I agree that the treble sounds metallic, BUT...$126 for triple-BA, and I am sure the metallic treble can be helped with the right tips

Sony's BA costs less than normal BA drivers, and there are companies selling single BA for 1K+.

 

# of drivers = better sound? IDK.

I tried different tips including the Comply and still I hated the XBA-3's sound signature, I send mine back the next day.

Xba is too bright if the source is high output impedance. I think the treble is less piercing than even the W4 (with resistance added to tame its spike)

I am in the same boat.  I tried different tips but don't like that signature at all.  Instead I got the R1 the 2 weeks ago and I been listening to that every since.
