Yeah I honestly can't imagine anything that comes close to that value at $50. The Xcape IE is pretty much a RE Zero with a slightly warmer, bassier signature. It should probably be on every budget headphone list ever, even at $80 or so.

Good deal. This, the HD439, Shure SE215, and Etymotics are the phones I recommend the most to normal folks.

I have both the CAL! and the HA S500. 

 

I know the S500 is not the S400, so you can decide how much you read into this.

 

The CAL! is more comfortable, just as light (if not lighter), over-ear instead of on-ear, less bassy, wider soundstage. Less durable-feeling.

 

The bass response is what ultimately makes me prefer the S500 over the CAL!, but at this low price, the gap in preference would be lessened.
