Oritek (de)Modification?

Hey everyone,

I have an Oritek 2 with the gorgeous 2.5 faceplate.

Is there any way to reconnect the optical input on the DAC, since I kow the modification disconnected it in favor of coax. Yes, I know the limitations and jitter problems associated with optical, but I need it... Unless... Are there any good, inexpensive optical to coax adaptors out there? I.E not the Empiral Audio one.

I am not too worried about jitter only because of the Oritek's reclocking... But is the optical circuit comply gone?

Thanks,

NK

Just found this little ditty from Ori:

"By default the optical is disabled on the D2 or D2.5 with the mod, but the optical receiver is not removed.
I found the coaxial input to be significantly more transparent than the optical and opted to disable the optical in order to eliminate excess wiring inside the cabinet - mainly to remove potential noise sources. You can request to leave the optical input available if it's a mandatory requirement for you.
There is one unit in which the optical receiver was removed to make space for a BNC connector. Perhaps that's the picture that confused you...

Ori"

Has anyone actually done this themselves?
