Any opinions on NAD CD Players??

I am in the market for a new budget-minded CDP, and I have my eye on NAD due to their warmth. However, I'd like to hear some opinions on these from maybe people who have owned or compared them.

I was looking forward to the Cambridge 350C, but the reviews so far are just lukewarm.

I also found a nice, used Rotel RCD-971...

Decisions, decisions.......

I've had a NAD 542 for about 3 years.  It's an excellent CD player although I would call it more neutral than warm.

Thanks! I was too impatient and went ahead and bought the c315bee today. I couldn't really find a negative review, and I've been wanting to replace my bright-sounding Onkyo for awhile now.

There was a bad batch(late 07/early 08) of them the player you bought but I really haven't heard about problems besides that. The few reviews out there are positive.

I was once thinking of getting that cd player.

I decided to go with the Marantz CD5004 though should be here in a few days. Which cost just a bit more than the NAD.

I'm looking forward to it been using a DVD player as a CD player.

But yeah post some thoughts on the NAD once you get it,pics etc...

For years dealers jokingly referred to NAD as Not Always Defective. To be fair current generation NAD doesn't really deserve this reputation, although it is budget oriented Chinese manufactured equipment so there are a fair number of OBF's. Be sure to buy from a reputable dealer that will exchange your unit if it fails within the 1st month. If there's no problems in the first month you're likely to go years with no problems.

I will definitely post my opinions of it once I have some time on it.

NAD products definitely do have a 'either you'll get a good one or a bad one' reputation....hopefully I get a good one. This was why I bought it from Crutchfield, so that the warranty is covered. I could've saved a little by buying used, but I figured on something like a CD player, it wasn't worth the risk.
