dt770 mods list and suggestions (and opinions?) - Page 2

Bump. I prefer my Dt770 250ohm to my friend's Dt770 Pro 80.. but still curious, especially to suggest things to him.

Gear mentioned in this thread:

I replaced pads to original 'leather' pads and 'buffed' them up using cuts from a power cable inspired by the rope trick listed in this thread here. I might replace the rather heavy power cable for something lighter up the road.

Note that I stuffed the cable under the pads to make them higher - bigger listening room. The 'leather' pads gave less boomy bass and the bigger listening room added some soundstage. Also gave more space for my ears so they no longer hurt after hours of use.

My first mod was to do a modified version of the rope trick by simply stuffing trims of folded toilet paper under the pads on the parts behind my ears. This made the cans tilt - gave better comfort and soundstage.

I have tried the "less boomy mod" the difference was very subtle, but worth it nonetheless
