To start, this will be my first purchase for good quality audio products and I really dont know where to look.
I am looking to buy a set of AKG K271 Headphones and I want to put an amp behind them.
Furthermore, I have an old set of Mission Renaissance 737 floor speakers that are currently amped by a Harmon Kardon PM640 (my dads old set). I plan on upgrading my system over the next year or so and I was planning to start with the headphones. I am unsure what amount to spend on an amp that can do both these things.
My concerns: Should I be upgrading my amp first? I do have a set of Bose QC3's which do the job for now for audio listening...
How do you pick a speaker amp?
What types of specs should I be looking for?
Should I bother with a headphone amp if I am planning on having a floor speaker set up?
If you have any other suggestions feel free to voice them.
