Problems with Banzai CMoy, sound only in left channel, right channel gets hot!

I've built (or should I say tried to build) a Banzai Cmoy based on an eBay kit.

The problem is, that when I power it on and start playing music, the music is heard only through the left channel. There is no sound in the right channel, but the right earplug gets hot (the left doesn't)!

Anyone having a quick tip on what would cause such behaviour?

thanks in advance

Put up some decent photos of the top and bottom of the board, then we can see whats going on

If one of your earplugs is getting hot, that's very bad.

That suggests your getting a very large DC (maybe full

battery voltage) offset. Don't plug your headphones in

again until you get the problem solved. If you have

a cheap pair a headphones use those for troubleshooting.

indeed, thats the only reason I keep ibuds

That happened when I built my Mini^3 the opamp was fried

I did a very quick search and noticed people saying that the Banzai does not use input filtering caps, is this true with yours?  If so, you're probably pushing dc voltage into your head phones.  If it does have filtering caps, pull the one for the right channel and check it with a multimeter that can test capacitors.  It's possible it shorted inside.

You are right. I built my for practice since it was my first build. It works perfectly but I am concerned about different voltages in the batteries and have not used it since.

Banzai CMOY

This is the schematics for the amp that i´ve built. This is my first build, so which caps are you reffering to when you say "filtering caps for the right channel" ?

Thanks for helping!

The problem is much more likely to be  a solder bridge or short somewhere, that circuit doesn't have input/filtering caps

I found a solder bridge, and fixed it. The buds don't get hot anymore, but still there's no sound in the right channel. I'll guess I killed the opamp.
