Recently my cd player crapped out that I was using as a home audio sourse, it was a standard cheap cd player hooked up to my set up, so I'm looking for a good one this time.
I've read how the sony d-25 and d-555 amongst others are pretty up there in SQ with the 4x and 8x over sampling etc etc, and here is what I'm wondering:
1) Which is better to get for use as a home audio sourse, a dedicated CD transport around $300 bucks vs either of the sony cd players mentioned above?
2) Why is the CD transport better and does it have the 4x or 8x or more over sampling? or Why is the Sony D-25, D-555s better?
I'm sure there is a whole lot more I don't know about these, but my chain will be (one of the above sourses) > Audio-GD Compass > Foobar2000 > Asio4all > M-audio BX5a Deluxe.
Advice, info and any help will be much appreciated!
