Source for reasonably priced R-core or toroidal 32v 100va transformer for maxed M3 w/ a11?

Like it says in the title - at long last i am really truly thinking about doing right by my trusty old M3 amp board. And using it as a low-wattage power amp.

It would appear from the docs at amb's site that what I'm looking for is a 32v or 2x16v 100va transformer to achieve ~3a of 36v from an a11 board.

Doesn't seem to be a common transformer - 30v and 36v transformers seem to be far more common.

The target enclosure used to be a 2U ethernet switch, so the vertical measurement of the transformer is limited to about 2 inches.. This probably means that an R-core is ideal. EI-core transformers are simply not likely to fit. A lot of the toroids I've seen are near 3 inches thick and won't fit.

I've come to terms with the fact that i may pay well over $60 after shipping.

But where do i get it?

Also, have people used 36v trafos to get 36v out of one of amb's power supply boards without issues?

Email Richard at sumR, if he can't make what you desire, he'll surely point you in the right direction.

I would go slightly lower even, another vote for richard here, he does excellent work with toroids and should be able to sort you out. I have run the sigmas at 36v, as long as the regulation is good then 35-36vac should work well. its right on the edge of performance though and some parts need to be changed. if you want potted from him, with shipping might be a bit over your 60, though not too much.

note, I did not do any load testing with 35-36 input/output, but I think it should work fine. unloaded it managed it without sweating, but I did change caps to 63 and 100v
