I grew up in an African island were each one was responsible for his own choices.
Here in Europe (US too), theres is this trend that "something in his childhood wasn't right". I find it a big lie.

Another example of somebody who might recover is somebody who did something young... but I've seen examples of people recovering and living productive lives despite such heinous crimes.
How did he become like this? Because he's an animal, just like all of us. We are monkeys with bigger brains, less hair, no tails, upright posture and a few other minor changes. We have all of the same instincts other animals do. Just look at the animal world - violence happens there all the time. It's just that humans have a well developed social system that is able to tame and control our instincts to certain extent.
Funny answer. An homossexual wouldn't like that answer.

Homosexuality happens in animals.

I don't think he meant it that way.

x2 I think most people don't realize how fragile their sense of security and stability truly is. Given the right circumstances and conditions it could all get tossed out the window. There is no difference between walking across a rabid Cougar or a homicidal maniac other than the naive belief that your fellow man operates rationally and in your best interests. In either case the result will be the same if you have chosen to be a victim. It goes for animals, people, nation-states, even random events in nature. I would say mankind's successes has given us the luxury to project an increasing sense of victimization over a wide spectrum resulting in our general loss of due diligence that could result in the state of nature seeking equilibrium at our expense. I'm not talking glaciers and polar bears either. Man is a poor student of history and with evermore fingers accessing the powers of Armageddon the math increasingly does not support reoccurring mistakes. Whether it's a sociopath or a supernova the universe is constantly seeking our obliteration and will use whatever tools available, including ourselves. On that note I'm going to get some beauty sleep.
I agree with this. A lot of sex offenders, the pedophile types especially, don't want to be or cannot be rehabilitated. I think it is in their wiring too. Something in a pedophiles brain structure that causes the thoughts and behaviors. I just can't imagine someone making a conscious decision to do such things. It's like back in the day when people thought being homosexual was a choice and that a person could be changed with counseling. It doesn't work that way. Homosexuals are usually born that way. Of course there are some that do choose to live that lifestyle.
I did have a friend that I used to work with. We didn't hang out but we attended some sporting functions together and worked together somewhat often. Well, one night he was caught downloading kiddie porn on his company computer while at work and was promptly suspended pending an investigation. He went home and immediately shot himself.

A friend of mine in high school tried to murder his parents a couple months before graduation. He'd been telling us for ages that they were "going back home to Vietnam for a few months", and that we were invited to lots of big parties while they were gone. He was pretty weird, but none of us suspected he was planning to kill them.
I remember hearing about it on the radio in a shop after school. "A local teen has been arrested for allegedly attempting to kill his father..." or something similar. My brother and I were out late doing soccer refereeing, and when we got back in the evening, there was a black minivan parked outside the house. When we went inside, my dad came over and said "the police are here to see you...".
It turned out he had stabbed his sleeping father with a kitchen knife in the middle of the night. He was also planning to beat his mother to death with the vacuum cleaner or something bizarre like that. When his father didn't die right away, he fled and drove around in the family car all night before turning himself in. His father survived, and he ended up only spending a few months in jail because his parents forgave him and asked the court of leniency. The explanation for his crime was that he was so stressed by his parents pushing him to perform well at school that he eventually just couldn't take it anymore. I haven't seen him since before all of this happened. I think he ended up going to university and got on with his life as normal.
Well gee, I feel relieved.
