EMU 0404 USB Question

I recently purchased rokit 8s and also have dt770 pros.  I was wondering if this was the best option to benefit my headphones and my monitors. My budget is around 200$. Also on the emu does this setup work:

 

Macbook pro Optical --> Emu Opitcal in --> Emu TRS out --> Rokit Monitors?

 

Any help is more than appreciated as I plan on buying this today, Thanks!

The setup is fine. emu 0404 usb is fine for DAC or ADC so long as the monitors are active, not passive. If you plan on using it with dt770, get a dedicated amp for that. It doesn't sound good out of an emu 0404 usb.
