carefully spread the headband wider by opening a pair of pliers or similar within the head band then the end piece will pull out. the padding band will then slide out of the main head band. the end clip snaps back in on reassembly

Superdux,

how did you go about getting into your 565's? I cannot see how I can get to the driver to do the intermitancy fix?

Any advice greatly appreciated, I don;t want to force something I shouldn't.

Thanks!

its hard explaining how i got to the driver, but this link should help a bit:

you can pry the "holders" which attach headband with the cup, through just prying them off or pulling them off till the "knob" pops out.

have you already tried using sennheiser hd650 cable? this would be the first solution to try, because they are a bit larger than the ones from the hd565. so i´d suggest you buy one of those and try that first, because working on the spring can be dangerous becuase the really thin wire going to the driver is attached there too.

but just in case you need to know all the steps getting to the driver, i´ll try and go through with you, just ask.have some time on hand;)

Ok there`s an update: as seen in the youtube video from innerfidelity you can order new springs from the sennheiser sales department if the bigger cable from the hd650 and some spring adjustment doesn´t work.

be sure to ask if the springs fit your hd565 when ordering but i don´t see a reason why they shouldn´t.
