$200 to spend on IEMs--Had PFE121,TF10 and M6

Hello

Currently my source is my iPhone 4 but im thinking about getting an amp ($50 and under? any suggestiosn haha? if not thats fine its not a big deal right now)

But im looking to buy new headphones

I've had the pfe121 and tf10 in the past and sold them because I made profit and are currently use the M6 which i LOVE but wanted a set up in quality.  I really liked the PFE and TF10 a lot but want something that is a step up (if possible)

Im really not a bass head and i have a pair of the Klipsch S4 in had I really don't like them because they are as "clear" as my M6.

I love all music styles and usually spend an equal amount of time in diverse genres but the least would be metal

i believe i like prefer "detailed and analytical sounds"

Right now Im thinking about getting the DBA02 if i can ever get my hands on them but maybe theres something that is more suited to my tastes?

How are the $180 IE8 on amazon?

thanks

If you are after detailed and analytical, I'm not too sure the IE8 would be your first pick.

Since you have an iPhone 4 as a source, why not the Etymotic MC3 or HF3?  The headset is tremendously convenient, isolation is amazing, and they have a nice transparent sound. They might be a lot less to pay than you are considering, but for instance, bennyboy has gone from several hundred dollar IEM's all the way down to the classic HF5s, so you never know - you may like them.

If you like, I've got a link in my sig to my MC3 review.

IE8 on amazon for $180 are most likely fake. Original are priced at $399

DBA are difficult to find unless used

How about Radius DDM?

I sold my IE8 after I heard DDM. Priced below $200

Also version of DDM is coming in December.  HP-TWF21

hi,

the sennheiser is a step backward, not forward. The problem is, you want to have a sound improvement from the tf 10. That are "sm3" and "um3x" for universinals but for a really improvement you need customs! In your bugdet there are the hifiman Re0 and the Re252 (and soon the new Re262) Very neutral with very good highs but also not a improvement to the TF10...

I hope this helps...

Avoid the ie8 and get the er4s.

I would get RE252 if you want detailed and analytical sound. You just can't go wrong with Head-Direct's products - they are always the best in price/performance. For fun, but still reasonably accurate sound, I would go with q-jays, but I am sure the RE252 will be superior technically.

i might just do that

when are the 262 supposed to come out?

and if i do get a hold of the dba would they be a sound i'd be looking for?
