I recently purchased some "MPX2CD PS12 400V" speakers along with a "McGregor V8D stereo amp".
I was told the amp was broken and that it was easily fixable. So I took apart the amp to find 2 leads that had come loose inside. After soldering the leads back on I set up the speakers and amp, the amp turned on fine.
The problem is that the sound is very quiet (even at max volume on the amp) and the speakers sound like they are "blown" (but I think it's just the amp that's causing this). Now I have heard the same set up playing before and it sounds great.
So I just wondered if anyone here knows what the problem is or can help me troubleshoot the problem.
