UPS complaint(s) here

I ordered an item which shipped through the UPS this Sunday. It was shipped from Kentucky via UPS ground and was scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. Well, Wednesday came and went, but no package arrived. It was rescheduled to come today (Friday). It couldn't come because of "emergency conditions," which is UPS-speak for two inches of snow. I wrote them an email expressing my disappointment and asked for a refund, since my package was guaranteed to come in three days. It should come next Monday, so including weekends, that's 8 days since it shipped. If i'm not refunded, I can't say I'll be using the UPS again.

Yes, I've had some problems with UPS as well. In one case the item I ordered ended up in some other state (IL, even though I'm in CA) because it supposedly had the wrong zip code. Then it sat there for a couple more days while they "initiated a trace". When I finally got it, looked like it had been dragged through the rain on its side, and there were holes in the box from where, I guess, they had missed with the hand truck and gouged chunks out of it. UPS wouldn't refund me though, they said they could only refund the shipper, not the receiver, with the supposition that the shipper would then refund the receiver. Yeah, uh huh.

edit: oh yeah, and everyday I would call to inquire of status, and they would say that the day's shipment didn't end until 7 pm and that it was probably still on the truck, so if it didn't arrive by 7, to call back. Yeah, uh huh.

Yeah, and my new RA-1 came from Michigan to upstate NY via UPS ground in only two days. Not only that, but it was delivered in great condition by a very nice delivery person ... jerks.

I love UPS!

I always request UPS shipment whenever there's a choice. Rarely a problem and the one time they lost something I shipped they paid off the insurance claim with no hassle at all.

Haha. Are you calling us jerks because the UPS failed us? I don't understand.

Sarcasm I believe was his intention.

It seems to be a local thing. UPS works wonders here in Chicago I think. I'd take them over USPS or FedEX any day. USPS just leaves my packages out in the open, not quite for everyone to see, but not exactly hidden either, and I'm really screwed if it's raining because they won't even knock to see if anyone's home to take it out of the rain. I also like UPS's signature requirement, only because it makes it certain that the package doesn't get left out in the open without permission, and that one is certain it arrived at the destination. However, I've heard horror stories too, so what can ya do?

soo far UPS hasnt fail me yet. but my friends had already experience bad service from UPS.
i believe UPS ground is just too slow for the price. USPS can get anywhere faster and cheaper. just remember to add insurance and tracking number and your safe.

soo far i like FedEx the best, they have the fastest online tracking update and all packages were ontime or faster then expected

i hate ups. i ordered my sr80's from the states. it was quick to get here, only like 7 days. but, i thought i was homefree from taxes/duty. then 2 months later, i get the bill in the mail, 50 bucks! their brokerage fee was 40 bucks canadian! pissed me right off. i would never use them to ship to canada again.

Never have had a problem with UPS. Always been great. Far superior to FedEx, at least in this neck of the woods.
